A local organization announced Thursday that it won a new Toyota Sienna. DC SCORES, which provides after-school programs to low-income youth, was chosen by the public as a winner of Toyota’s 2012 100 Cars for Good
program, in which the automaker is giving 100 cars to 100 charities in 100 days. DC SCORES plans to use the minivan to support its poetry, soccer and service-learning programs and to help with its expansion to 20 new schools in the District. Every day through Aug. 21, Toyota is profiling five nonprofits, and members of the public can choose which one of them will receive a new vehicle. Runners-up receive $1,000 cash grants.
