O’Malley files for candidacy

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley officially filed for candidacy on Wednesday, kicking off his 2010 gubernatorial campaign against his likely Republican contender, former governor Bob Ehrlich.

O’Malley filed along with Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, following a half-mile “march” down Main Street in Annapolis, beginning at the Maryland Democratic Party headquarters and ending at the State Board of Elections.

Ehrlich has not yet filed for candidacy or announced a running mate.
