Actor Ashton Kutcher took a dig at President Trump’s executive order that temporarily bans refugees and immigrants from several Muslim-majority countries at Sunday night’s SAG Awards.
“Good evening, fellow SAG-AFTRA members and everyone at home. And everyone in airports that belong in my America,” Kutcher said to loud applause. “You are a part of the fabric of who we are, and we love you and we welcome you.”

Trump’s executive order, announced Friday, temporarily suspended immigration from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for 90 days. It halted the country’s refugee resettlement program for 120 days and banned Syrian refugees from the U.S. indefinitely.
Dozens of travelers who were in transit to the U.S. were detained in airports over the weekend.
Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus also condemned the ban.
“My father fled religious persecution in Nazi- occupied France. I’m an American patriot, and I love this country. Because I love this country, I am horrified by its blemishes and this immigrant ban is a blemish and it’s un-American,” she said.

In the opening of the show, actress Kerry Washington said “no what, actors are activists.”
“A lot of people are saying right now that actors should keep our mouths shut when it comes to politics. But the truth is, no matter what, actors are activists because we embody the humanity and worth of all people. This union helps me to do that. I am Kerry Washington, and I am an actor.”
