Still the Quarry House (8401 Georgia Ave., No. B, Silver Spring).
2. BEST MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
The best mode is mass transit, but we don’t yet have a system that makes it viable for most residents.
3. FAVORITE LOCAL SPORTS EVENT
Baseball games.
4. BEST PLACE FOR LIVE MUSIC
Strathmore if you’re sitting down and listening. 9:30, IOTA if you’re dancing.
5. BEST PLACE FOR OUT-OF-TOWN VISITORS
The museums and galleries on the Mall.
6. FAVORITE MUSEUM
Natural History.
7. MOST ROMANTIC SPOT
Depends what two people are into. Any place could be romantic.
8. FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND A LAZY SUNDAY
Working on house projects, trying to keep my car running, playing softball, driving into the country.

Cafe Milano.

Anywhere in the mountains of Maryland or West Virginia where it’s just you, nature and free-flowing water.

I try not to do that anymore, but I love the pizza joints and the Diner in Adams Morgan.

D.C. remains essentially a colony and lacks the voting rights we demand everywhere else in the world.
