It’s possible former White House counselor Dan Bartlett may suffer from it. Here’s Bartlett on conservative blogs:
I mean, talk about a direct IV into the vein of your support. It’s a very efficient way to communicate. They regurgitate exactly and put up on their blogs what you said to them. It is something that we’ve cultivated and have really tried to put quite a bit of focus on.
Leave aside the macabre IV metaphor for a moment. It’s the “regurgitate exactly” phrase that probably will stoke bloggers’ ire, just as Bartlett’s October appearance at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce didn’t win him any friends among the 2008 GOP presidential campaigns.
