‘Can’t take down 45’: Trump fans continue to gather outside Mar-a-Lago

Supporters of former President Donald Trump gathered near his Mar-a-Lago estate for a second day on Tuesday with a message that “they can’t take down 45.”

Fans held pro-Trump flags, including ones that touted a 2024 presidential bid, which Trump has yet to announce, as they protested Monday’s FBI raid.

“This investigation is another feeble attempt to take Trump down,” Maurice Symonette, 63, who reportedly came to protest with Blacks for Trump, told the Daily Mail. “But they can’t take down 45. The deplorables are taking over.”

The crowd of about 100 people wearing MAGA hats and Trump T-shirts reportedly sang rock anthems and honked horns. Law enforcement did not allow the supporters to gather directly outside Mar-a-Lago.

“It’s a bunch of bulls**t. They are looking for anything they can find to stop him from running in 2024,” said Tank, reportedly a member of the Broward County Proud Boys chapter who did not want to give his full name. “Trump will surprise a lot of people in 2024. There are going to be a lot of sad Democrats.”

Ray Bulman, a retired firefighter, said he had to come despite being wheelchair-bound, making it difficult to leave his home.

“They are after Trump because he likes to drain the swamp,” Bulman said. “He has thousands of lawyers but it’s hard to beat the government and the lying media.”

Politicians have also expressed concern over the raid.

Disgraced former New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo warned the raid could negatively affect future political processes.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has called for an investigation into Attorney General Merrick Garland’s approval of the FBI raid should the Republicans take control of the House following the midterm elections. However, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said he does not want to wait and said he has questions that “deserve answers now.”
