Veterans for Peace — one of the activist groups that lobbied the Montgomery County Council to pass a resolution urging reductions in military spending — plans to celebrate Veterans Day by protesting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with a march in Rockville.
The group plans to meet at 1:30 p.m. at Veterans Park, at the intersection of Route 28 and Route 355, and march to the County Council offices at 100 Maryland Ave., according to an e-mail sent Friday by Peace Action Montgomery head Jean Athey.
Montgomery County’s government offices are closed Friday for Veterans Day.
