One of the men who was photographed in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office during a siege of the Capitol on Wednesday has been arrested and charged.
Federal officials said Richard Barnett, a 60-year-old from Gravette, Arkansas, has been charged with entering and remaining on restricted grounds, violent entry, and theft of public property. The arrest took place in Little Rock, according to CNN and ABC.
A photo of the man at a desk in the speaker’s office went viral on Wednesday. Christine Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, later tweeted that the desk Barnett was seen being seated at was not her mother’s desk.
