Judge Sarah? Palin Signs Deal for Courtroom TV Show

Hollywood is nominating former Gov. Sarah Palin for a seat on the courtroom TV bench.

As first reported by People on Tuesday, the onetime vice presidential candidate has signed a deal to star in her own reality court show, though a pilot has yet to be filmed. If the yet-untitled program is sold, its backers have an eye toward placing it in daytime syndication next year.

“She might not a have a legal background, but understand as governor she did appoint judges, and her job was to look at the facts and make judgments every day,” Howard Bragman, spokesperson for the show’s producers, told THE WEEKLY STANDARD.

Bragman added that her telegenic personality, name recognition and following make her a good fit for such a television format, as well as the undercurrent of political discontent throughout the country. (Palin has styled herself as a populist since becoming a national figure.)

The show would bear resemblance to Judge Judy-style programming already on the air.

“She won’t be presiding over the death sentence,” Bragman cracked.

The production company, Warm Springs Productions, has several reality TV credits to its name, including History Channel’s Mountain Men. It also produces the FOX News series Legends & Lies, of which Bill O’Reilly is executive producer.
