Baltimore officer kills man after domestic violence murder
A Baltimore City police officer Friday shot and killed a knife-weilding man suspected of murdering a woman in a domestic violence incident.
An officer responded to a call at 9 a.m. for an aggravated assault in progress at the 400 block of Fairview Avenue, where he found Shenera Norris, 32, stabbed to death outside the window of her house, said Agent Donny Moses, a Baltimore City police spokesman.
A witness told the officer the suspect who stabbed Norris was inside the building ? and the officer kicked in the house?s door, where he found the suspect armed with a knife, Moses said.
Police are withholding the suspect?s name.
The officer told the man to drop the knife, but the suspect charged at the officer, causing the officer to shoot the man several times in the upper torso, police said.
The suspect was taken to Sinai Hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead at 1 p.m., Moses said.
“The couple has had a history of domestic violence,” he said.
