Houston police are gathering surveillance footage to investigate the death of a local woman who was found naked on the side of a road in the city.
Alexis Sharkey, a 26-year-old social media influencer, was found dead in Houston only a few minutes away from the home she shared with her husband, Tom. Sharkey had no physical wounds and was disrobed when officers arrived at the scene.
FOX 26 Houston reported this week that investigators are hoping to find clues on the roadway-facing surveillance camera owned by local salon Jenry Kelley Cosmetics.
Employees at the salon confirmed that law enforcement had gathered the footage for examination.
City officials are asking anyone who may have information regarding Sharkey’s death to call 713-308-3600, the number for the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division.
Sharkey’s husband told ABC13 Houston he was not fighting with his wife when she disappeared and that he has received death threats in the days that followed Sharkey’s body being found.
“She wasn’t happy. She was stressed. I would cuddle her to try to make her strong. She was an amazing woman. Sir, my wife was an amazing woman. She really was. There’s always other sides to everything. I was the one holding her, cuddling her, and building her back up,” he said. “I don’t need to set the record straight.
