Bernie Sanders gives the scoop to Ben & Jerry’s employees

Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke to employees at Ben & Jerry’s St. Albans factory in his home state of Vermont on Friday, and did so behind a podium depicting what appeared to be a mock-up of one of the company’s pint-sized containers. Many of the employees were still wearing hair nets.

According to quotes shared by Ben & Jerry’s Twitter account, Sanders discussed politics and clean energy.

“We have to transform our energy system away from fossil fuels to clean energy,” he was quoted as saying. He also said: “When we stand up and fight back we can change the country in very positive ways.”

These are typical stump hot topics for the progressive senator who ran for president in 2016, but it was the cool setting that really took the cake.

The ice cream container-decorated podium featured the words, “Euphoric Stuff,” where the name of a flavor of ice cream is typically displayed. A list of ingredients were also shown at the bottom.

A Ben & Jerry’s spokesperson confirmed to the Washington Examiner that “Euphoric Stuff” is not the name of a “current flavor.”

In January, Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen revealed the creation of a Sanders-inspired flavor, “Bernie’s Yearning,” to celebrate his presidential run. It was not, however, an official Ben & Jerry’s flavor.
