President Joe Biden put the pedal to the metal during a tour of General Motors’s electric vehicle factory in Michigan, flooring a white Hummer and inviting lawmakers to “jump in.”
Biden, a self-described “car guy,” looked right at home behind the wheel of GM’s new electric truck. The president said if he had “been asleep for the past 50 years” and woken up to the new Hummer, he would swap “title for title” with his favorite Corvette.

“Anyone wanna jump in the back? On the roof?” Biden said, pulling up to lawmakers and reporters during a tour of the Factory ZERO facility in Detroit. The president, who ignored questions about how fast he was going, praised the vehicle’s steering radius.
“These suckers are something else!” he said after several laps and a second burnout.
