Vice President-elect Mike Pence was met with boos Friday night, and some cheers, when he took a break from White House transition business to see the Broadway musical “Hamilton” in New York City.

Pence’s motorcade rolled up in front of the theater, where Secret Service ushered the outgoing Indiana governor into the venue. Inside the auditorium, guests snapped photos of the Indiana governor and posted them to social media. But there were reports that some booed Pence as he was shown to his seat.

Pence has been in New York most of the week, leading President-elect Trump’s transition team and attending meetings at Trump Tower. He left Manhattan for a quick day trip to Washington, D.C., earlier this week, when he, along with his wife and one of his adult children, visited Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden at the Naval Observatory.

The musical tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton. It won a Pulitzer for drama and took home 16 Tony Awards this year. The show’s writer and former lead, Lin Manuel Miranda, left the production a few months ago. Miranda had supported Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president.
