The state?s medical examiner determined an unidentified woman found in a wooded area outside Owings Mills this weekend was killed by asphyxiation, police said Monday.
Police released photos of the woman lying in a pile of leaves ? where she was found by two cyclists in the 2500 block of Caves Road in the Franklin area on Saturday ? and are asking for the public?s help in identifying her. Police also released photos of her gold-colored necklace with a gold- and silver-colored pendant.
The medical examiner performed an autopsy of the woman Sunday and determined the woman was in her mid-thirties, but has not determined when she died, according to police spokesman Bill Toohey. In the police photo, the woman has dark curly hair and appears to be either Hispanic or black.
Her body showed no obvious signs of trauma, police said, and detectives have no suspects or motive in the investigation.
