Ohio absentee ballot requests far ahead of 2012

Ohioans appear more eager to vote in this year’s presidential election than they were four years ago.

More than 524,000 absentee ballots have already been requested in the Buckeye State, Ohio officials told the Associated Press. That’s an increase of 40,000 ballots compared to the same time period in 2012.

The state will begin mailing absentee ballots out later this month. And requests for absentee ballots can be made through MyOhioVote.com.

Large absentee ballot turnout does not necessarily produce a corresponding increase in total voter turnout come Election Day.
