DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — A Dickinson hotel operator is suing a Minnesota management company in part for giving discounted room rates in the oil patch where lodging is in high demand.
Neil Ivesdal, part-owner of the AmericInn, is seeking unspecified damages from Three Rivers Hospitality of Chanhassen, Minn.
Ivesdal says the management company set the corporate room rate at $100 per night, but allowed a majority of guests to stay at the hotel for $69.
The complaint says cost of comparable hotel rooms during the three-year period that Three Rivers ran the hotel was between $130 and $200 a night.
The lawsuit also accuses Three Rivers of poor marketing and promotion, improper billing, fire code violations, and failing to equip the rooms with commercial grade televisions.
The defendant was not immediately available for comment.
