Warmer weather, rain on tap for rest of the work week

The rest of the work week may be warmer and wet in the D.C. area.

The high temperature today in the D.C. area will be close to 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a slight chance of showers after 4 p.m., and a 70 percent chance of rain Wednesday night, likely before midnight.

Thursday, residents can expect to see warmer temperatures, with highs in the mid-to-upper 60s. The Weather Service expects a 20-percent chance of rain during the day, with showers occuring after 1 p.m., and a 40-percent chance of precipitation Thursday night.

On Friday, high temperatures are expected to be about 60 degrees. There’s a 50 percent chance of rain, with rainfall of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

The average high on today’s date at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is 49 degrees.
