The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward leading to the arrest of a man charged in connection to the kidnapping of Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs and the shooting of her dog walker last year after he was wrongly freed from a Los Angeles jail.
A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for information about the whereabouts of James Jackson, 19, who was “erroneously released” from custody on April 6 due to a “clerical error.”
LADY GAGA’S FRENCH BULLDOGS RECOVERED SAFELY
Jackson, one of three who were charged with attempted murder and robbery following the incident on Feb. 24, 2021, is considered “armed and dangerous,” the Marshals Service said Monday. The Marshals Service is assisting Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Major Crime Team with locating and arresting Jackson.
Jackson is accused of shooting the pop singer’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, with a handgun.
Fischer was walking Lady Gaga’s two pups, Koji and Gustav, last February near Sunset Boulevard when he was ambushed by two men. When Fischer refused to hand over the two dogs, he was shot once, before the men fled with the dogs. Lady Gaga offered a reward up to $500,000 for the return of her dogs before they were recovered safely.
Five people were arrested in connection to the incident, two of which were charged as accessories after the fact. Jackson, along with Jaylin White, 19, and Lafayette Whaley, 27, were charged with one count of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery.
