CNN slammed for describing killing of Uber Eats driver an ‘accident’: ‘So dishonest’

CNN was slammed for using the word “accident” in a tweet reporting on the killing of an Uber Eats driver that was reportedly carried out by two teenage girls.

“This is called homicide. The man was killed during the commission of a violent crime,” former New York Police Department Commissioner Bernard Kerik tweeted.

His tweet was in response to a CNN post reading, “Police said the girls, 13 and 15, assaulted an Uber Eats driver with a Taser while carjacking him, which led to an accident in which he was fatally injured.”

The tweet was reporting on two teenage girls who were charged with felony murder and armed carjacking over the death of an Uber Eats driver last week in Washington, D.C.

TEENAGE GIRLS CHARGED WITH FELONY MURDER AND ARMED CARJACKING AFTER DEATH OF UBER EATS DRIVER

Mohammad Anwar, who was originally from Pakistan, died Tuesday after a rollover crash. The 13- and 16-year-old girls are accused of attempting to steal Anwar’s car and tasering him.

“He was a hardworking immigrant who came to the U.S. in 2014 to build a better life for himself and his family,” Anwar’s family said in a statement. “The loss for his family is immeasurable.”

A video of the killing also went viral on social media, showing two girls involved and the driver lying on the sidewalk after the car flipped.

Others echoed Kerik, slamming CNN’s use of the word “accident.”
