FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Firefighters were called to a Fort Lauderdale home to rescue a pet parrot that had gotten itself stuck high up in a tree.

The owner of the macaw named “Sweetie” called Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue after the bird escaped the home and became stuck in the tree as a storm approached Thursday afternoon.
