Trump on Alec Baldwin arrest: ‘I wish him luck’

President Trump wished actor and foe Alec Baldwin luck after being informed by reporters Friday afternoon that he had been arrested by New York City police for allegedly punching a man who stole his parking spot.

“Alec Baldwin was just arrested for punching somebody else during a parking dispute,” a White House correspondent yelled to Trump as he was leaving the White House for a campaign rally in West Virginia.

“Who was arrested?” Trump asked.

“Alec Baldwin. Punched somebody out during a parking dispute,” the reporter said.

“I wish him luck,” Trump said before moving on to other questions.

NBC’s “SNL” star, known for his Trump impersonations over the past two years, was arrested in Manhattan’s West Village neighborhood, the New York Police Department confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

Police said they received a call at 2 p.m. about an assault at 28 East 10th St.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 49-years-old male conscious and alert with injury to his left jaw. EMS responded and transported the [man] to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition. A 60 year old male was arrested and charges are pending. The investigation is ongoing,” NYPD said in an email.

Baldwin, 60, lives in the area with his wife and children.
