Civil War re-enactment set for Farm Museum

Carroll County?s Farm Museum is holding its annual Civil War Living History Re-enactment in recognition of the role Carroll played in the outcome of the Battle of Gettysburg.

The two-day event May 5 and 6 will feature regiments from the North and South camping and engaging in skirmishes.

Visitors are encouraged to view the soldiers? routines on the field and in camp as well as talk with the re-enactors.

The museum?s re-enactment has jumped from 25 re-enactors to nearly 350 last year and is now receiving national recognition.

Among other activities will be a Victorian garden tea and artisans demonstrating tinsmithing, blacksmithing and open-hearth cooking.

Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for those ages 7 to 18 and 60 and older; and free for children age 6 and younger.
