AOC calls Emanuel’s nomination ‘deeply shameful’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, called the nomination of former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to be the U.S. ambassador to Japan “deeply shameful.”

AOC’s disdain for the nomination stems from the former mayor’s handling of the 2014 shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.
