Opponents to a proposed liquefied natural gas plant in Baltimore County are accusing a Baltimore City lawmaker of stonewalling a bill they hope could derail the project.
Project challengers said they?ve been flooding the Annapolis office of Democratic state Sen. Joan Carter Conway with complaints. Conway, a Senate chair committee, refuses to let a bill establishing a new state review process on LNG proposals go to vote, they said.
Conway did not return calls for comment. The bill passed in the House last week and is one of four legislative attempts to block the plant. Similar county-level attempts have been overturned in federal court and are under appeal.
