Man charged with shooting neighbor

Baltimore police identified the man who allegedly killed his next door neighbor early Monay morning before barricading himself in his house as 40-year-old Marvin Fergueson.

Billy Horne, 47, had been wiping down his truck at about 6 a.m. on the 3800 block of Lyndale Avenue in Northeast Baltimore when Fergueson came outside, police spokesman Donny Moses said.

“They exchanged just a couple of words,” Moses said. “Mr. Fergueson then went back in the house and came out with a shotgun.”

Fergueson shot Horne multiple times in the head and torso, Moses said. Horne was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where hewas pronounced dead.

After firing at Horne, Fergueson retreated into his own home, where he barricaded himself. City SWAT units attempted to persuade him to come outside until 12:40 p.m., Moses said, when they entered.

Fergueson was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree murder. He is being held in police custody.
