YouTube rival Rumble rising in popularity

Video platform Rumble reported an increase in active users and content uploads during the month of January.

Rumble has been a competitor to YouTube, touting technology that is “immune to cancel culture.”

There were roughly 39 million monthly active users last month, a 19% increase from December. Users watched 10.8 billion minutes, an increase of 27% and creators averaged 4,383 hours of uploaded video per day, up 14%.

“On the heels of the decline in U.S. and Canadian users at Facebook, and with Rumble’s impressive January growth, it’s clear that we are witnessing a major shift on the internet,” said Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski. “Users are sending a clear message that platforms supporting the free and open internet will be the future.”

Conservatives applauded the growth on social media, with the Heritage Foundation sharing the benefits of using Rumble in a tweet.

“We are glad to have a platform where we KNOW our content won’t be taken down or shadow-banned — with a community of users who also value free speech!” they wrote.

Media personality Dave Rubin wrote: “This is just the beginning!”

Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk pointed out that censorship could be killing other platforms.

“Facebook users are falling because they have censored half the country,” Kirk wrote. “Competitors like @rumblevideo are quickly rising to fill the void.”
