HOUSTON (AP) — Police have arrested a 23-year-old woman who they say caused a two-vehicle wreck that killed three teenagers, including two siblings.
Houston investigators announced Monday that Raquel Vasquez-Hernandez is charged with four counts of failure to stop and render aid in the collision that occurred early Saturday.
They say she was speeding when her car ran a red light and struck a Chevrolet Cavalier carrying six people. A 19-year-old woman and her 15-year-old brother were among those killed. Three others in the Cavalier were hospitalized.
Investigators say Vasquez-Hernandez fled the scene but a caller later notified police of her location and she was taken into custody at a family member’s home.
She was being held Monday at the Harris County jail. Online jail records did not indicate an attorney for her.
