Police in Massachusetts are investigating the death of 13-year-old Chloe Ricard, who was dropped off at an emergency room on Monday.
Chloe’s stepfather said she was left at the hospital by an adult man in his 40s in a callous manner.
“The only thing I was told earlier from another agency is … someone 47 years old dropped her off,” Brian Dolan said, according to Boston 25. “Whoever did this to my little stepdaughter, trust me, I hope there’s hell to pay because they threw her out of the car like a bag of trash. If that was your kid, if that was your sister, if that was your brother, or your mother, or your father, what would you do? I’m beside myself.”
Her mother, Deborah Goldsmith-Dolan, was equally shocked and saddened.
“I want justice. I want justice now,” she said. “I’m in shock, and I can’t believe I’m telling this story.”
Goldsmith-Dolan said Chloe had been at a friend’s house, but she had not heard from her daughter for a long time. She then went to the police to file a missing person report when she heard Chloe had been dropped off at the hospital.
The medical examiner’s office is still determining the exact cause of death, and no one has been arrested.
