Five of the 10 Democratic presidential candidates who were on the debate stage last week have not yet committed to MSNBC’s climate town hall slated for later this week.
Candidates Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, and Beto O’Rourke will not attend the event scheduled for Thursday and Friday, according to the Washington Post.
Twelve other presidential candidates will participate in the forum, the top-polling of whom are South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
CNN hosted a seven-hour climate change town hall earlier this month, in which all 10 of the candidates who made the most recent debate stage participated.
Former Vice President Joe Biden’s eye notably filled with blood during the CNN event, which he later blamed on a contact lens.
Of those participating in the MSNBC town hall, Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet, Montana Gov. Steve Bullock, former Maryland Rep. John Delaney, Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan, billionaire Tom Steyer, former Republican Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, and self-help author Marianne Williamson were not on the debate stage last week.
