Twitter suspends conspiracy-riddled account after Trump retweet

A Twitter user with the name “LYNN THOMAS” was suspended after President Trump retweeted a meme from the conspiracy-laden account that accused Democrats of being the enemies of the U.S.

The Daily Beast learned Twitter took action Tuesday against the account because it broke the rules, which say, “You may not use Twitter’s services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Twitter.”

The tweet Trump shared said, “Democrats are the only ones interfering in our elections. Why do you think they so strongly oppose voter ID?” Included with the caption was a meme which stated: “Democrats are the true enemies of America!”

The account would often share conspiracies, including QAnon and claims that the Clintons were “torturing and sacrificing children” and harvesting “a drug that can only be found inside the human skull.”

Trump continued pushing Voter ID laws on Tuesday, tweeting: “We should immediately pass Voter ID @Voteridplease to insure the safety and sanctity of our voting system. Also, Paper Ballots as backup (old fashioned but true!).”
