As of 9 a.m. Wednesday morning after election night, Trump was just trailing Hillary Clinton in the national popular vote. Once all the ballots are counted, it is conceivable that he will lose the popular vote by an even larger margin than George W. Bush in 2000, but with a bigger electoral majority.
