Hollywood actor Philip Baker Hall died at the age of 90, his neighbor announced Monday.
Hall, who had 185 film and TV credits in his career, died in his sleep Sunday night. He was best known for his performances in films such as Boogie Nights (1997) and Magnolia (1999) and also made several appearances in Seinfeld and Modern Family.
My neighbor, friend, and one of the wisest, most talented and kindest people I’ve ever met, Philip Baker Hall, died peacefully last night. He was surrounded by loved ones. The world has an empty space in it. pic.twitter.com/pBCaILjHPT

Heartbreaking news. The cause of Hall’s death has not been given, though the actor did suffer from emphysema, partly as a result of contracting pneumonia as a child.
