Martin O’Malley, a possible Democratic presidential candidate, took a shot at Hillary Clinton (and Jeb Bush and possibly Rand Paul) in an interview with MSNBC:
The MSNBC interviewer said, “You’ve got Bush, you’ve got Paul, you’ve got Clinton. Three potential dynasties right there. Are there too many dynasties?”
O’Malley followed-up, “You’re calling the Pauls a dynasty?”
“You tell me. Are there too many dynasties in American politics right now?”
“Look, I think the presidency is not a crown to be passed back and forth between two families. It’s supposed to be a contest of ideas and opportunity for candidates to earn this awesome trust,” said O’Malley. “I don’t believe that it’s a hereditary right.”
O’Malley, the former Democratic governor of Maryland, told MSNBC he “likes where [he’s] at” in the presidential contest.
