Sen. Tim Scott shot back at CNN’s Don Lemon and said some people are at their “wits’ end” over black conservatives speaking their mind.
“It was the woke supremacists, by the way, who said that me and Herschel Walker were the coon squad,” Scott said on Fox News in response to a rant from Lemon slamming him for saying that “woke supremacy” is as bad as “white supremacy.”
“If you watch the folks who are yelling the loudest right now, it includes people who are at their wits’ end because there are African Americans willing to speak their minds from a conservative perspective,” Scott added.
Scott mentioned Lemon and suggested that the CNN host hasn’t taken a serious look at the issues facing the black community.

“Why that requires people to threaten my life, to have a security detail because I decide to stand up for my values, my convictions based on my faith, I don’t understand that,” Scott said. “Don Lemon can say whatever Don Lemon wants to say. Until he has taken a serious look at what’s happening on his side of the aisle and come out strong against that, we’re going to continue to have a conversation in America that keeps us divided and not building a bridge so that we can live in this nation together.”
Scott also took aim at the recently passed $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package and criticized the portion awarding specific money to farmers based on race.

“Terrible policy,” the South Carolina Republican said. “It shouldn’t fly at all. It is too heavy to fly. Think about this: As an African American who has felt the burden of racism, the last thing I would ever want to do is discriminate against other people. So when you have a farm program that is designed specifically for the exclusion of white farmers who are struggling as well, that is un-American.”
