Kellyanne Conway says Washington Post would be harsher with Baghdadi if he worked for Trump

Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway ripped into the Washington Post for their obituary headline describing Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi as an “austere religious scholar.”

“I would ask the Washington Post, close your eyes and pretend that al Baghdadi worked in the Trump White House and then go rewrite your obituary. I bet you wouldn’t be as kind,” Conway said Monday on Fox News.

The Washington Post was forced to change their headline to call Baghdadi an extremist leader after they initially changed the headline from “terrorist-in-chief” to “austere religious scholar.”

The paper received criticism for the headline, with people questioning why they had downplayed the crimes the terrorist leader committed.

A spokeswoman for the paper responded by saying that “the headline should never have read that way.”
