The Senate on Wednesday easily advanced former Sen. Dan Coats’ nomination to be President Trump’s national intelligence director, and set up a final confirmation vote early Wednesday afternoon on the non-controversial nominee.
The Senate advanced him in a 88-11 vote. Soon after the vote, senators agreed to hold his confirmation vote at 1:45 p.m. today.

Coats is a noncontroversial nominee who was approved by the Senate Intelligence Committee last week in a 13-2 vote.
