Happy hour specials
To encourage customers to dine out despite thinner wallets, many area restaurants are offering early-bird specials. Here are a few we’ve heard about:
Donna’s (www.donnas.com) has a dinner special for guests arriving between 5 and 6 p.m., any night of the week, at any of its locations. Dinner for two, including salad or soup, an entree from a selected menu and coffee with biscotti, is $35. Someone dining alone would pay $17.50 for the meal.
On weeknights between 5 and 7, Pazo (www.pazorestaurant.com) in Harbor East is offering Pazo Cinco. Selected tapas and cocktails are $5 each. Featured tapas include a small Costa Pizza, eggplant dip and spiced veal and pork empanadas. Pazo’s signature cocktails include Cava Royale, made with Spanish sparkling wine and peach nectar; Mondello Mojito, and Kaffir Lime and Thai Chili Martini.
Sotto Sopra (www.sottosoprainc.com) offers Aperitivo Hours Monday through Thursday between 5 and 7 p.m. The Mount Vernon restaurant offers discounted drinks, small plates and $10 pasta dishes during happy hour. – Compiled by Christine Stut
