Trump postpones planned G-20 press conference until after George H.W. Bush’s funeral

President Trump announced he will cancel a press conference announced Friday “out of respect for the Bush family and former President George H.W. Bush.”

The former president died Friday at the age of 94, and a state funeral is being planned. Trump said he will hold the press conference after the funeral.

“I was very much looking forward to having a press conference just prior to leaving Argentina because we have had such great success in our dealing with various countries and their leaders at the G20….,” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning.

Trump is in Argentina for the two-day Group of 20 meeting, where he was initially expected to also meet with the leaders of eight other nations. Trump canceled a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin via tweet and downgraded scheduled bilateral meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and South Korean President Moon Jae-in from formal sitdowns to informal “pull-asides.”
