A new Fox News poll found more than nine-in-10 Democratic voters are “nervous” about the state of U.S. politics, while just more than one-quarter of Republicans feel the same way.
The Feb. 11-13 survey concluded 92 percent of liberals and progressives are worried about the country with President Trump in the White House, while just 29 percent of conservative voters do. Those numbers have changed significantly from last March when eight-in-10 people of both parties said they were anxious about current political affairs.
Between both parties, including independent voters, 60 percent of voters feel nervous while one-third are confident. The poll was taken prior to Trump’s speech before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday.
More than three-quarters of all respondents said the 2016 election made them more likely to vote in the 2020 presidential election, while only 5 percent said it made them less likely to vote in three years.
The poll was conducted by Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw & Company Research with 1,013 randomly selected registered voters nationwide. The poll had a 3-point margin of error except in partisan questions, where Democrats had a 4.5 point margin and Republicans had a 5 point range.
