GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump floated the idea of bringing Gennifer Flowers to his first debate with Hillary Clinton.
“If dopey Mark Cuban of failed Benefactor fame wants to sit in the front row, perhaps I will put Gennifer Flowers right alongside of him!” Trump tweeted Saturday.
Flowers claimed to have had a 12-year affair with Bill Clinton, who initially denied the relationship but eventually admitted to having at least one sexual encounter with her. Flowers’ announcement came in the run-up to the 1992 New Hampshire Democratic presidential primaries.
Trump issued the threat in response to Cuban’s taunting announcement that he’d attend the first debate, which takes place Monday at Hofstra University. “Just got a front row seat to watch @HillaryClinton overwhelm at the ‘Humbling at Hofstra’ on Monday,” Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, tweeted on Thursday. “It Is On!”
Cuban supported Trump in the early stages of the campaign, but soured on him as the primary unfolded and even was recruited as a potential third-party presidential hopeful by Never Trump activists. “[Trump] had a really good chance to be different and really have a chance to change things, but he doesn’t do the work,” Cuban said in July. “He’s lazy.”
