Alabama representative Martha Roby is the latest Republican member of Congress to denounce her party’s presidential nominee and call for him to step away from the presidential race. The three-term House member released a statement Saturday morning in response to the report that Donald Trump, in 2005, was recorded making lewd and sexually depraved comments about women.
Here’s Roby’s statement, posted on Twitter:
Donald Trump’s behavior makes him unacceptable as a candidate for president, and I won’t vote for him.

Roby was among the Republicans on the House select committee investigating Benghazi and participated in the hearing last year that interrogated future Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
She joins a small number of Republican members of Congress—including Utah senator Mike Lee and House members Mike Coffman and Barbara Comstock—who have called on Trump to step down from the nomination. While these members had not endorsed Trump, Roby had, by her account, reluctantly endorsed the New York businessman. Another House member, Jason Chaffetz of Utah, has also withdrawn his endorsement of Trump.
Update: The list of elected Republicans in Congress calling on Trump to withdraw his candidacy continues to grow. Idaho senator Mike Crapo released the following statement Saturday morning:

Update II: New Jersey congressman Scott Garrett also says Trump should withdraw from the race:
