A former Democratic senator on Friday dismissed Hillary Clinton’s claim that she used a private server for convenience as “false on its face.”
“She’s a government official. The law says the public has a right to know what’s going on,” former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey said in an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo.

Kerrey, who has endorsed Clinton’s presidential candidacy, nonetheless accused her of trying to circumvent the law.
“And if you don’t want to abide by the law, it seems to me, what you have, particularly if you’re secretary of state, you should make it an effort to change the law, rather than try to circumvent it, which I think is what happened here,” he added.
“It never good to have the FBI in possession of your server, checking out what’s in it,” Kerrey said with a chuckle, “even if you’re not running for president … in this particular case, I do think she’s got a very difficult time explaining why [she] put a server in [her] home.”

“Her response was, ‘I just didn’t want to have two cell phones,’ which I think is false on its face,” Kerrey added.
