Trump says he’s not angry: ‘It’s really amazement at how dishonest the news is’

President Trump expressed his “amazement” at what he views to be the dishonesty of the media as he continued to push back on a report that he is “angry.”

“I love it,” Trump said after Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked if he was “having fun” in his job. “Well, there’s been a lot of false reporting that I’m angry about things.”

“I have never seen you angry,” Ingraham said. “I’ve known you for 14 years.”

“I think the press is fake, the media is fake. So you could say there is a certain anger there, but it’s not really anger, it’s really amazement at how dishonest the news is,” Trump replied.

This isn’t the first time Trump attempted to refute reporting that said he’s angry this week.

During a brief phone call with the New York Times on Wednesday, Trump pushed back on a report from the Washington Post that described him as “angry at everybody,” following the news that his former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and his associate, Rick Gates, were indicted and a campaign foreign policy aide, George Papadopoulos, had pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
