Charter students get college cash for touchdown skills

College is expensive — like, mortgage-your-tree-house-expensive — and scholarships are few and far between. Luckily, they grow ’em strong at Friendship Collegiate Academy, where 14 seniors signed full college football scholarships.

The college prep charter school is sending kids to toss the pigskin to Columbia and Pitt as well as several historically black colleges. Chairman Donald Hense said: “After years of decline, Friendship Collegiate Academy is striving to once again make Washington a leader in developing scholar athletes.”

Yeah, because with a 95 percent graduation rate, it’s the picture of D.C. decline…
