Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager blasted Donald Trump on Sunday for putting his “bottom line” before the American people.
“In every juncture, he has always done what’s best for his own bottom line,” Robby Mook told Fox News’ Chris Wallace. “I don’t think Donald Trump is on the side of any family in the United States, certainly not on their economic side.”
Mook, echoing Clinton’s message, claimed the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s policy proposals “are a fundamental threat to our economy” and would trigger an “economic ice age” in the U.S.
“And if we look at how he’s conducted his business, the way that he hasn’t paid small business contractors, the way he’s cheated hourly wage workers,” he said, adding that American families “need to be very skeptical.”
“He’s certainly on the side of his bottom line and his bank account,” Mook repeated.
Contrasting Clinton with her Republican opponent, Mook said the former secretary of state views the issues Americans face “through the lens of how it’s going to affect middle-class families.”
“Donald Trump [sees things] through the lens of how it will help his bottom line and underscores how he is fundamentally unfit to be our next president,” he said.
