Former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren on Thursday emphasized that she was never told to “tilt” her coverage of Donald Trump following reports that the network’s top brass were instructed to skew the 2016 election towards “anyone but Trump.”
“Just FYI:neither Roger Ailes nor @rupertmurdoch ever told me to say/do anything about the race,” Van Susteren tweeted Thursday in response to reports the media mogul gave directives to former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes to shift public opinion away from Trump.

Van Susteren hosted an evening program on Fox News from 2002 to 2016. She left the network for a near-six-month stint at MSNBC following Ailes’ ouster from the network over mounting allegations of sexual harassment.
According to a recent report, the lynchpin for Ailes’ ouster was his support of Trump.
“It was Ailes’ tacit support of Trump that, in part, made his removal from Fox all the more urgent for the Murdochs. And it was not just the liberal sons who were agitated by Ailes’ regard for Trump, but also the father, whose tabloid, the New York Post, helped create Trump, but who found him now, with great snobbery, not of ‘our’ conservative class,” Michael Wolff wrote in the Hollywood Reporter.
Ailes, died in May at 77, following a fall in his Florida home.
