Roger Stone, an informal adviser to President Trump, said Thursday he will testify Sept. 26 before the House Intelligence Committee.

Stone will appear as part of the committee’s probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

“I very much look forward to testifying and I am anxious to correct a number of the misstatements by committee members regarding my activities in 2016,” he said in a statement.

Stone also confirmed the appearance via Twitter.

“I Will testify voluntarily for the House Intell committee Sept 26th . Time to clear the air on the Russian collusion delusional #witchunt,” he tweeted.

The longtime Trump adviser and GOP strategist was scheduled to appear before the Intelligence Committee in a closed-door session July 24, but the hearing was postponed until after lawmakers returned from the August recess.

Stone was pushing to testify in public to discuss his communications with an unknown hacker linked to Russia, and WikiLeaks, which published a trove of hacked emails from John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, and the Democratic National Committee.

Podesta appeared before the House Intelligence Committee in June.

Stone is now asking the House Intelligence Committee for the “immediate release” of transcripts from his testimony later this month to ensure there’s “no confusion or misinformation” about his appearance before the panel.

“Although I have again called for an open public hearing in the interest of full transparency, the hearing is currently scheduled to be in a closed session,” Stone said in a statement. “I have again asked for immediate release of the transcripts so that there will be no confusion or misinformation about my testimony.”

The House and Senate Intelligence Committees requested documents from Stone and three other Trump campaign officials in May, which Stone turned over, as part of their probes into Russia’s interference in the election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Stone has maintained he did not collude with Russia.
