President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will be donating to a charity of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s choice in honor of their wedding.
“President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will be making a contribution to one of the 7 charities the royal couple has designated in lieu of gifts,’ Lindsay Walters, a spokeswoman for the White House, told the Daily Mail ahead of the nuptials on Saturday.
The organizations chosen by the British prince and his American fiancee include the Children’s HIV Association, Crisis, the Myna Mahila Foundation, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, StreetGames, Surfers Against Sewage, and the Wilderness Foundation UK, per Kensington Palace.
Prince Harry & Ms. Meghan Markle are incredibly grateful for the goodwill they have received since their engagement, & have asked that anyone who might wish to mark the occasion of their wedding considers giving to charity, instead of sending a gift. https://t.co/lzfrRmoeUv pic.twitter.com/nxrTZtIKBY

As the wedding is not considered a state event, the couple are not obligated to invite foreign heads of state or government, including the president and first lady.
Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama did not get an invitation either, after some speculation they might.
The royal wedding will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19.
