Latin Kings leader gets 60 years in prison

A Maryland leader of the Latin Kings gang has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.

Prosecutors said 34-year-old Erick Roman, of Laurel, brought the gang to Maryland and founded the Royal Tribe. He was sentenced in federal court in Greenbelt for conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise.

Roman sanctioned or ordered gang activities that included murder, a home invasion-robbery, the robbery of a prostitute, and firebombings at apartments and homes, according to prosecutors.
